Several years ago we were asked to design
a pro bono billboard for Time Out Youth,
an organization that provides support,
advocacy and education to gay youth.
Our design was simple. Just the words
"It's okay to be gay," set in Century School-
book type. The billboard company refused
to put the board up, saying it was "too
controversial." That pushed us to begin to
create a line of gay-supportive products
that simply say "It's okay to be gay," or
the mildly hipper version "OK2BGAY."
